Meanwhile, a Ukrainian drone struck a beach in Gelendzhik, killing six people, including three children, and injuring about 40, Russian authorities said. Separately, a drone hit a university in Belgorod linked to drone development.
Russian strikes also destroyed 8 million books at a publishing house warehouse in northeastern Ukraine, which the publisher called an attack on Ukrainian culture. In Kharkiv, a strike destroyed HIV prevention supplies, though no medications were affected, aid groups reported.
Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed its air defenses intercepted 131 Ukrainian drones overnight across several regions. Ukrainian drone commander Robert Brovdi said his units had struck four Russian oil refineries and the Taman marine terminal in recent days, destroying 12 fuel storage tanks. Traffic on the Crimean Bridge was temporarily suspended amid reported explosions near Kerch port.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called for tougher sanctions on manufacturers of Russian ballistic missiles, according to Ukrinform. Ukraine has also accused Wildberries of supporting Russia’s military logistics, a claim the company has not addressed beyond confirming the attacks.
